Even Symantec seem to use the Windows file name not the virus file name Nik. Yes it's a windows file, but with the amount of virus's going aound you should really disable it until you need. It's a Windows update process, but as with any process, you should check to make sure it's not a trojan in disguise. I know that it is just the update manager, but it does screw things up.
